My friend and I stayed in the Voodoo suite for our 4-day visit to New Orleans. This was our first time in New Orleans, and while we were on a budget, we also wanted to experience many of the great things that the city had to offer. The Marigny proved to be a great central location - walk or bike (which you easily rent a few blocks away) to historic Royal Street, jazz on Frenchman, Bourbon St, downtown restaurants galore. The Voodoo room had a full size kitchen, which was great for making our own coffee and breakfast in the morning, and saving leftovers after dinner. This helped our food budget a ton. The beds were comfy, bathrooms were very clean and clean sheets and towels plenty. There was also a TV with cable, free wireless Internet and air conditioning -- a very nice place to come 'home' to relax after a fun-filled day in the city. Dayna, the owner, lives in the house directly behind the cottage. I can't say good enough things about her!!! She was flexible and accommodating, and even gave us her cell phone number just in case we needed anything and she wasn't home. A wonderful place - definitely the first accommodation that I will try to book for my next trip back!

Fun little B&B. My girlfriend and I stayed a few nights in the Voodoo room. The location was perfect, very quiet street but within easy walking distance of Frenchman street and the whole French Quarter. The room had its own full kitchen, and a living room, which for the price was a great deal. We didn't cook in much but it was nice to have the option because there isn't actually breakfast, just a coupon to go to the restaurant across the street (this is probably better though as the Paniche is pretty good and you get lots of food). The new owner seems to be making lots of renovations to the place and the pictures don't really show what the rooms look like now. The place was clean, and the bed comfortable, and all we needed for an awesome couple of days in New Orleans.

We booked the Voodoo Room for a long holiday weekend and ended up having to Price Line our way to another place to stay. In my opinion, the room was filthy and was not as described online. To name just a few of my gripes, we had to wash everything we wanted to use from the kitchen before we used it because it was dirty, the trash cans were covered with a film of dirt, grime and mold, our feet were blackened from the dirty floors after a few minutes of walking barefoot, there wasn't a microwave or a working oven in the "full kitchen," and the sheets were stained beyond my comfort level. Essentially, it is my opinion that that the place could be great if they invested some more money in housekeeping and general maintenance. I would not recommend it under the current conditions. Also note, the Voodoo Room is a shotgun, which means if you plan to sleep people in the front room, they will have to go into the bedroom to use the bathroom or walk through the bedroom to get to the kitchen. Furthermore, the place is under new ownership and it seems there are quite a bit of kinks to be worked out.

Stayed here on a busy Jazz Fest weekend. Room was nice, we had a unit with a kitchen. Things were as expected and I would stay here again. Its nice to be close to the madness on Frenchman Street and the "Quarter" with the ability to hide in a quiet room nearby.

Stayed here back in February when Vanessa R. and I just had to go to New Orleans to satisfy our Crawfish craving. The people who manage this place are very friendly and helpful when it comes to just about anything. The place itself is very cute, we stayed in the Bordello room which actually has two entrances to the room, a plus in my opinion. This had one queen size bed and a private bath. The decor is very french quarter style antique, and the room very clean and comfortable. Its a couple of blocks from the french quarter, passing by many restaurants, bars, and cafes that the locals tend to frequent on the way. The room was $89 per night including taxes. Very reasonable. Cute place, will definitely go back.
